Game dude sonic heroes

Take on the role of Sonic, Tails and Knuckles, the 3 protagonists of this exciting saga, and prepare to advance to the finish line with an amazing teamwork. Collect all the golden rings that cross your path while trying to survive once again thanks to your reflexes, dozens of enemies and sharp deadly traps.

Change the lead character at any time you want while your other two companions follow you on your adventure. Not Super Mario Bros. Yeah, I know, that counter arguement has been done to death, but I couldn't help it. Because of Luigi's inclusion as a playable character in that game, i'm sure many people wanted him to be playable in a console 3D Mario game, so they made him playable in the Galaxy duology.

Good enough? Where you expecting Luigi. What did you expect? Labels: Game Dude Sucks. One of Nintendo's smallest, but greatest franchises. It stars a team of anthropomorphic animals who ride through space in aircrafts. One is the leader, a heroic fox named A snotty bird named Falco Lombardi, a wise old rabbit named Peppy Hare, and a machine making toad named Slippy I should note that long before this series began, there was a similarly titled game for the Atari , but that's a completely different story all together.

Now, getting into the series at topic, the series started out great, but during the two thousands, things changed, obviously, and our hero and his team haven't been the same. But, before I can tell that story, and before I can tell you about the rest of the Star Fox series, lets begin with the game that started it all, Star Fox for the Super Nintendo Entertainment System, otherwise known as Star Wing in Europe, since they couldn't use the Star Fox title over there, due to copyright issues.

It was the first game to use the Super Nintendo's Super FX Chip, thus producing 3D, polygonal graphics, so it was revolutionary at the time of its release, but that's not what makes it so good. The gameplay was also a blast. You flew in vehicles as Fox, accompanied by the awesome Star Fox team, which this game is named after, and you blasted a bunch of ships and bad guys out of the sky. Your goal in the game is to defeat an evil monkey-like being with a disembodied head and two floating hands named Andross, who used to be brilliant scientist who worked on the Planet Corneria, but has now been banished to the Planet Venom by General Pepper after one his experiments went wrong.

And now, he wants to conquer the galaxy known as the Lylat System, and it is up to Star Fox to stop him. To do so, they have to travel to various planets in the Lylat System to get to Venom, where Andross resides in his hideout.

Now, on to the gameplay. How does it hold up to today's standards? Lets find out! Now, this ought to be easier than the Star Fox one. I have nothing against people who dislike or hate the game, as long as they have legitimate and good points. Personally, I find the game is unique, and it tried something different for the Sonic franchise, to make it stand out. It wasn't the best Sonic game, but I still think it was good, and it's definitely a game I find worth playing when bored.

The problem with Game Dude in this garbage review I'm going to talk about today is that he never comes up with any good reason to hate the game. You'll soon see why. Just go to YouTube and watch it.

Infact, why don't you follow this link? We begin with the usual terrible intro with a somewhat catchy theme song that can get into your head.

Now, he starts his complaints. Yeah, that's right. Sonic is dead because he's not on Sega's systems anymore, and that's why he has just recently got a This is going to suck. Stop that insult name gag right now! Seriously, it's getting annoying and tiresome!

Because he knew that if he just kept doing a certain gag every single review, it would get old and stale. Even Nostalgia Critic knows when to quit doing certain gags. Because Sega Hates You! Yeah, of course, genius, that makes perfect sense, you idiot! Oh, and Sega doesn't hate their fans, because they've been releasing good games like Sonic 4 Episode 1 and Sonic Colours.

If you switch to the one you don't want, press one button again, or press the other button a couple of times. Simple as that. I only want to play as Sonic or Tails, damnit! And like him or not, you'll require Knuckles if you want to survive each level. You're just making it look tedious because you're all like "Waaaaaaaaaaaaah i'm a retrotard! You are not playing the game right. The right way to deal with a herd of robots is to switch to Power Formation Knuckles, Omega, etc.

Just use Power Formation, and the tediousness will be practically non-existent. They aren't THAT long. You can beat them quickly if you're good which you, Mr. Alex, are not. And how are the levels repetitive? Think about it, each pair of levels has different gimmicks to separate them all from one another. There's the Ocean levels that have the classic loops, there's the City levels with highways that increase your speed, there's the casino ones with all the casino gimmicks from Sonic The Hedgehog 2, the Sega Genesis classic to the original game, as well as some new BINGO gimmicks, there's the canyon ones where you travel on rails, blow up train rails and blast out of cannons, there's the forest ones where you swing on vines, bounce on mushrooms, and travel by air with flower-shaped propellers, and there's the haunted castle levels where you walk on an invisible path, ride on mine carts and change the entire area around you by hitting switches.

All them are full of the fast-paced action and platforming we've come to know from Sonic games. What more do you want? Also, need I remind you, invisible walls programmed to keep you in a certain area were also in Super Mario 64, Banjo-Kazooie and Sonic Adventure.

Though, to be fair, I own the Gamecube version, and from what I heard, the Playstation 2 is not as capable of loading fast, for some reason I'll never figure out.

That's my cue to say these wise words in memory of the once mighty UrinatingTree. Instead of muddying the waters with the bevy of Sonic-related characters that seem to multiply like bunnies in each game ' Sega divided up the characters into teams of three.

Although the teams each have a unique look, they mostly play the same and have to take on the same challenges which in this game means once more defeating Dr. Eggman and taking on a Mystery Monster. What makes this game work so much better than previous 3D Sonic games is that Sega has weeded out all of the clutter and concentrated on what made Sonic such a great game to play in the first place ' speed. That doesn't mean you will zoom through each level at blurring speeds, but you will be doing a lot of dizzying loops, corkscrews and ricocheting bounces.

To make the three characters manageable you will only have control of one at a time. You can use the Y and X buttons to switch between which one is in the lead, and under your control, on the fly.

This works quite well because the level has been designed in sections where you will lean heavily on a particular character's particular skills. For instance, there are places where you have to fly up giant blocks using Tails abilities or take out flying creatures using his attacks. Other sections require Sonic's speed or Knuckles brute force to knock down walls.

You can also use the characters in unison to deliver particularly powerful attacks. Once you dig into the game you'll quickly find yourself coming up against creatures that require the attacks of different characters, one after the other, to defeat.

That's really what makes this game such a blast to play, Sega has found a way to seamlessly blend the distinctly different styles of their characters into a game that makes sense and is easy to master.

The graphics aren't over the top impressive, but do the job nicely. The only complaint I have is the scenes that jump to a distance shot which seem to muck up your controls. The sound in the game leans heavily on its predecessors, but I don't think that's all bad. Multiplayer mode offers seven ways to take on a buddy in split-screen play, but none of them are very memorable. Sonic may never topple Mario from the throne of excellent adventure games, but this latest attempt goes a long way to prove that there's plenty of room for two fantastic gaming franchises at the top.
