About Zion We consider our school a mission and aim to serve in our community. Our Curriculum Zion's curriculum adheres to TEKS standards and enhances those standards, preparing your child year by year for their next steps in education. The Early Childhood Program is based on age-appropriate learning activities in conjunction with the individual needs of each child. Read More. Since developmental play is the primary vehicle for learning in young children, child-initiated, child-directed, and teacher—supported play is the focus in our early childhood program.
Children are encouraged to actively explore their environment and interact with adults, peers, and materials. In addition to our quality academics, our students learn to use technology, participate in Physical Education, express themselves through creative art, learn to speak Spanish, and sing in classroom choirs that occasionally perform throughout the school year.
Zion offers interscholastic sports teams beginning in the 5th Grade. Elementary The Elementary program at Zion continues our educational excellence started in the Early Childhood program. Kindergarten through Grade 5 utilizes a self-contained classroom concept. Specialized teachers instruct our Spanish, computer, music, and Physical Education classes. We develop good habits and provide Christian life experience. The Sixth, Seventh, and Eighth grades are departmentalized, rotate through various classrooms and teachers, and have their own lockers.
All this is in preparation for success in high school. Zion graduates are highly desired by Dallas area high schools and have built a reputation for being solid, well-rounded students who do well in AP, IB, or Honors classes.
